About Us

famPicOwner, Steven and Kathy McCain's business was started by Steven's grandfather in 1947 as Hillivew Plantation.

At that time the farm contained about 1,000 mature pecan trees. In the late 1970's when soybean prcies rose to $13 per bushel, about 90% of the trees were cut down to make room to plant soybeans and other row crops.

Steven and Kathy started Hillview Pecans in 1997 and began planting new trees and have continued doing so. The orchard now contains approximately 500 trees of different varieties and is continuing to grow each season.
